Youth sports programs are often popular extracurricular primary school activities.

Extracurricular activities in a primary or elementary school typically center around sports and hands-on learning initiatives. Depending upon the school's policies, athletic activities may not be school sponsored. Learning institutions often offer supplemental contracts for educators to serve as advisers and coaches for the student extracurricular programs. Common programs include activities which promote healthy lifestyles, civic responsibility, music, arts and cultural awareness. Student programs and sports teams are typically grouped by age level.

Sports Programs

·         Athletic programs, whether school sponsored or organized by a volunteer group, are the most common types of elementary school extracurricular activities. The goal of youth athletic programs is less focused on winning than on learning basic sports skills and how to be part of a team. Some youth sports programs remain co-ed until the students reach the third grade.
Although the types of primary school athletic programs vary by school, the most common programs include soccer, basketball, football, volleyball, cheerleading and baseball. Sports programs typically run on a seasonal basis during the school year and may feature youth camps during school breaks.

Scouting and 4-H Programs

Most school administrations regard cell phone use as disruptive and distracting, and have implemented policies that prohibits using them on school grounds. Cell phones are a disruption in school. Text messaging can be used to cheat on tests. Students who are text messaging are not able to give full attention to the lesson. If a student cell phone rings in class, it totally disrupts the class for a considerable period of time. Many cell phones are also camera phones. Camera phones present an invasion of privacy in the schools . One of the best ways we can protect the privacy of every student is to ban cell phones from school during the school day.
During the school day, students need to be focused on classroom instruction without distractions. While the phones are very convenient and a common part of everyday life, for the most part, they are a distraction everywhere. Have you ever been on a bus or plane and somebody is carrying on a loud personal conversation? At a school, the distraction may be even greater than in a public place. For many teachers, one of the biggest concerns about including cell phones in schools is that they will be used inappropriately.
Students do not need cell phones during school hours. Many schools now have telephones in the classroom, if it really is an emergency students are easily contacted. I don't really understand why some parents are so adamant about being able to contact their kids at school at a moment's notice. Teachers have a difficult job as it is. They don't need to be dealing with kids having cell phones going off, surreptitiously texting each other, going on the Internet, and taking photos and video not to mention the possibilities for cheating. There are enough distractions
Students will text each other all the time during class, and there are times when the teachers won't even notice! Cellular phones are very distracting. Are we now slaves to our technology? If the student needs to call home they only need to go to the main office or guidance to contact a parent or guardian. Most calls home are not for emergencies, they are for mere simple communication that do not need to be done during school. It must have been a miracle that I made it through that time without the need of a cell phone. The majority of the calls, if not all, will be used in idle chatter. Their current uses are for distraction, social interaction, and lewd photography. And let's not ignore the parents who would call students DURING CLASS to talk about non-emergency issues. If it is truly an emergency, call the school main number and have the child brought to the office. There should be NO tcell phones in the schools.
There are no pros for cellular phone use in school. While cell phones are a convenience, however they don't belong in the school with our students. Students will use them in the class regardless of the rules. It will be a disruptive convenience benefiting only the students to talk to anyone. They will use it to text their friends or to play games. If there is a true emergency the parent only needs to call the school. Cell phones in the school will be a total disruption, they will be a good cheating device.
Obviously the cons of allowing cell phones in school, outweigh the pros. Cell phones have become a nuisance. Youngsters have enough distractions. And, there is no difference between looking through your phone and reading a note passed in class. School is for learning. Students will take it for granted and answer calls during the class. It leaves no hope for the classroom teacher. Whether the phone is on vibrate or not, it still makes no difference because the youngster will be continuously looking at the phone in anticipation of a call or a text message. Text messaging turned out to be as popular as e-mail and is omnipresent in many students' hands, and can caused total disruption to mere chaos in the classroom.
Distractions such as cellular phones don't belong in school. There is no need for cell phones in the schools, just as there was no need for them in the past. In the case of a true emergency, schools have in place systems that protect the children and notify the parents. It is the parents who are entitled to a cell phone . As a result they will always be available at a moment notice. Cellular phones in school are an unnecessary distraction that take time away from teachers and can be a source in cheating. Text messaging is an epidemic. I'm sorry to tell you this, but if you think students will not be texting each other while a teacher is teaching, you're dead wrong. Whether parents feel it is necessary to have cell phones in the schools or not, it is still a distraction to their children's education. It is a disservice to our children to allow cell phones during in the schools. Cell phones have become a huge problem. Kids text during class, leading to cheating, or coordination of other "bad" activities.

POSITIVE SIDE
Internet has significantly altered our life style in several ways. It is providing opportunities to wander about the world and to escape out of the real world while sitting in the chair. By the constant repetition of certain themes and through powerful visuals of high technical quality it is even conditioning many of us in to thinking and behaving in particular ways.
Internet has its impact on Supply Chain management, and Customer Relationship management- where E-commerce is playing a big role by automating customer relationship management, like voice interactive systems where the complaints can be dealt with in no time. Banks are also changing their ways like introduction of home banking and electronic fund transfer, where funds are transferred without physically going to clearance houses. In the field of education- concepts are changing from computer based training to web based training, like e-gurukool, e-learning, on-line examinations etc., Then there is the virtual class room concept where the lecture is webcasted. Channels are available on Internet on every thing and anything. E-Commerce is a forerunner in this regard.
NEGATIVE SIDE
There is no dispute about the positive role of the Internet. Similarly there also exists not merely a consensus but a growing concern about its harmful affects. However, positive affects do not stick so easily and negative affects do not leave us so readily. Therefore, it is useful and appropriate to focus on the harmful role of the Internet in distorting our Indian culture and in influencing particularly the school and college going children at their highly impressionable age.
Internets role in promoting vulgarity and in undermining our family values and traditions is particularly distressing. The abuse of this very powerful media leads us to question the absoluteness of certain liberal concepts like freedom and choice when it comes to viewing what one wants. When private interests come in to conflict with the larger issues of public morale and morality, there is a need for exercising freedom and choice with some restraint. If programme producers are unable to contain their commercial instincts, the public authorities and parents and elders must step in to collectively articulate their concerns and initiate actions to prevent its harmful affects.
SUGGESTIONS
o To lessen the effects, reduce the time spent viewing the television. Children should view only select programmes for a fixed number of hours. Parents should become friends with their children and spend more time with them.
o Cultivate habits including reading. Parents should kindle their children curiosity and encourage reading and read to them and narrate stories. Having pets and caring for them, wouldn't only engage children in an enjoyable way, but also inculcate kindness to animals.
o Encourage children to pursue outdoor activities and team games in natural settings.
o Parents should become good role models. Elders should take pains to teach children social skills and help them in communicating their problems fearlessly.
o Media viewing under parental guidance and proper regulation is the best way to prevent grave mishaps in children, arising from screen viewing.
CONCLUSION
The media now runs our society. It decides what people are interested in and how they behave. Because of the media children are less interested in reading and in education and more interested in killing brain cells while sitting on the couch watching trash. We as a parent need to turn our attention away from the TV and the computer and focus more on each other individuals, Reading books, going to parks, spending time with friends and family etc. Instead of giving children medication and sending them to more doctors and therapists, we should reduce the number of electronics that are running their everyday lives. People need contact with other people in order to lead a happy, healthy life. Basically it is the parents' responsibility to monitor what their children watch and how often they play video games and access the Internet. Next, the government should really regulate laws to reduce inappropriate TV, Internet or video game contents. There should be an access control device in any inappropriate TV or Internet content not only for children but also for adults.

When one thinks of vacations the images of sunny skies, sandy beaches and leisurely activities should come to mind.  Vacations are meant to be breaks from the stresses and demands of everyday life.  But it doesn’t have to be that way for kids.  Learning can be done wherever you go even on vacation.
Ecotours – Even the most luxurious destinations can offer insight on the local geography and native animals.  Snorkeling and boat tours are great ways to see what different locations have to offer.  Younger children can stick to on shore activities such as hikes, museum visits, food samplings and off road expeditions.  Learning about a new culture is a great way to introduce children to something new without them realizing it’s educational.
Local Interest – We aren’t planning a big vacation this year, instead we are working on a staycation.  Our city is home to so much history about our country’s birth and development, there are endless options for learning.  One day packed with state parks, museums and walking in the footsteps of our fore fathers is enough history to last the entire year.  Talk with your local Visitors Center or Historical Society for tips on best times to visit, upcoming events and even appropriateness for children.


Road and Day Tripping – Taking a 2-day road trip might sound like a horrendous event for a family traveling with children.  It doesn’t have to be.  Put together an itinerary that enables you to make stops where the kids can learn something.  Caves are a unique way to get kids exploring and learning about what goes on underground.  Caves can be located all over the United States and incorporated into road trips because they don’t have to be daylong excursions.  Local Farmers Markets are a fun way to see what local farmers and artisans have to offer while stocking up on snacks and souvenirs.  State parks can offer glimpses into history while also providing rest stops and picnic areas, serving double duty activities.
The learning never has to stop.  When school lets out and the kids are focusing on fun, offer them new ways and avenues of having fun.  These ways can slow the brain drain that often happens on extended breaks.
